Exciting News from DSP Fitness Training Centre in Dechencholing, Thimphu!
11 JUN, 2024

We're thrilled to announce the commencement of our Muay Thai (Thai boxing) training program, which kicked off today, June 11, 2024!

This special program, part of the Integrated Fitness Training - Intermediate course, runs from June 10 to 18, 2024, and features 46 dedicated De-suups honing their skills. The training is a collaborative effort with The Royal Thai Embassy (RTE) in Dhaka and the Honorary Consulate General of Thailand in Thimphu, Bhutan. Our Muay Thai sessions are led by two esteemed instructors, Mr. Wittawat Kasom and Ms. Patchayaporn Kasom. This initiative not only celebrates the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bhutan and Thailand but also aims to strengthen people-to-people connections.

Mr. Wittawat Kasom was Thailand’s National Muay Thai Coach in 2021-2022 and owner of Lanna Fighting Muay Thai Camp. Ms. Patchayaporn Kasom has the following titles: Thailand’s Champion of Muay Thai Talent in 2020; World Champion of Wai Kru in IFMA Virtual Competition in 2020 (under 13 years old); Word Champion of Muay Thai Skills in IFMA Virtual Competition in 2020; Thailand’s Champion of Muay Thai Talent in 2021 (under 15 years old); Thailand’s Champion of Muay Thai Artistic Battle in the National Youth Games in 2022 and World Champion of Wai Kru in IFMA Muay Thai Youth Work Championship in Malaysia in 2022.

Zimpon Wom Sonam Thinley, a member of the DSP Steering Committee, was the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony. We also welcomed Mr. Panupan Chotirangsiyakun, Counsellor from the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka, along with officials from the Honorary Consulate General of Thailand in Thimphu.

DSP expresses sincere appreciation and gratitude to The Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka for their support and to the Honorary Consulate General of Thailand in Thimphu for facilitating this fantastic program. 🙏
