Training of Trainers on Entrepreneurship Development- New Business Creation

✨The De-Suung Skilling Program( Post-DSP) and Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment (MoICE) successfully concluded a 15-day Training of Trainers  on Entrepreneurship Development- New Business Creation.

Held from November 4–20, 2024, the initiative aimed to address youth unemployment by fostering entrepreneurship and building the capacity of key stakeholders to promote self-employment and economic growth.

The opening session was graced by Advisor, De-Suung Skilling Program and Director General, Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship.

The program trained 27 participants, including civil servants, instructors, and representatives from Entrepreneurship Support Organizations, Civil Society Organizations, and financial and academic institutions. Participants engaged in seven modules, covering topics such as business model generation, design thinking, and business plan preparation. The training was delivered using the Competency-based Economies through the Formation of Enterprises (CEFE) methodology, emphasizing hands-on learning through simulations, role-plays, and industrial visits.

The program also featured visits to local enterprises, including Production, Manufacturing, and services sectors providing participants with real-world insights into entrepreneurial challenges and successes.

The closing ceremony was honored by the presence of the Governor of Gelephu Mindfulness City, who delivered an inspiring address on the significance of entrepreneurship in fostering community growth and innovation. During the event, certificates were awarded to participants in recognition of their dedication and commitment, marking the successful conclusion of this impactful initiative.

This initiative reflects MoICE’s commitment to tackling unemployment and empowering a new generation of Bhutanese entrepreneurs to drive sustainable economic growth.

Two skilling programs under the De-suung Skilling Programme (DSP) concluded today, 18th November 2024, at the DSP Training Centre, Dzongkhalum, Trongsa.

🌏 Trainers: Wai Phyo, Zin Me Me Kyaw, and Nuam Man Cing from Myanmar.

The Superintendent of Police, Trongsa, graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest and awarded certificates to the skilled trainees.

With hands-on training from expert international trainers, our De-suups are now equipped with valuable technical skills to contribute to the workforce. Congratulations to all the participants for their dedication and hard work!


DSP in 'Glass Fleming' program was launched on 18 November 2024

DSP in 'Glass Fleming' program was launched on 18 November 2024 at the DSP Training Centre, Taba, Thimphu. 12 De-suups are participating in the program under the expert guidance of Mr. Alexx Cheng from Thailand.

Under the expert guidance of seasoned trainer, participants will learn the unique techniques in glass fleming creating stunning works of glass art jewelry using glass beads. The launch signifies yet another milestone in our mission to empower individuals with creative skills, fostering innovation and opening doors to new opportunities.


DSP in 'Cultural Tour Guide - 2nd cohort' concluded on 31 August 2024

DSP in 'Cultural Tour Guide - 2nd cohort' concluded on 31 August 2024. 45 De-suups participated in the course and was held for 5 months at the DSP Training Centre, Phaduna, Punakha. The intensive course aligns with the curriculum of the BQF Certificate II under TVET Quality Control. In addition to the core content, the course included training in communication skills, social etiquette, and an introduction to foreign languages and culture. 14 De-suups were declared as β€˜Competent’. De-suups who were declared as β€˜incompetent’ will be sitting for coaching and reassessment.

Dasho Tashi Dorji (Chairperson, DSP) was the Chief Guest during the closing ceremony and awarded certificates to the trainees. Mr. Garab Dorji (Chairman, Guide Association of Bhutan), Mr. Phuntsho (Offtg. Director, Department of Tourism), Mr. Robin Wangdi (Lead coordinator, Tour Guide Course) attended the program.


DSP in Professional Cookery - 3rd cohort closed on 29 August 2024

DSP in Professional Cookery - 3rd cohort closed on 29 August 2024. 19 De-suups completed the course held for duration of 4 months at the DSP Training Centre, Pangbisa, Paro. The trainees completed the Culinary Arts (Foundation & Intermediate) program before the Professional Cookery Course.

Chef Pakpoom Jitprapai (Chef Patrick) was the Lead Expert Trainer with De-suup Choki Dorji as the Assistant Trainer.


Launched a 'Cultural Tour Guide course'

The De-suung Skilling Programme (DSP) has launched a 'Cultural Tour Guide course' for two cohorts, comprising 80 De-suups, beginning on 20 August 2024 at the DSP Centre in Phaduna, Punakha. This 4-month intensive course aligns with the curriculum of the BQF Certificate II under TVET Quality Control. In addition to the core content, the course includes training in communication skills, social etiquette, and an introduction to foreign languages and cultures.

This initiative by DSP addresses the shortage of skilled tour guides in the tourism industry, contributing significantly to the sector.


DSP in 'Landscape Design' commenced on 15 July 2024

DSP in 'Landscape Design' commenced on 15 July 2024 at the DSP Training Centre, Phaduna, Phunaka. 15 De-suups are participating in the program for duration of 3 months.

The trainees will learn Landscape Design by using AutoCad computer program for 2 months and implementation of the design for 1 month. Ms. Venus Pugdeekong from Thailand is the Expert Trainer.

DSP in 'Spa Therapy' concluded on 15 April 2024 at the DSP Training Centre, Phaduna, Punakha. The course was held for duration of 3 months and 20 De-suups completed the course.
