Sound and Stage Lighting - Intermediate

8 dedicated De-suups as they successfully completed the 'Sound and Stage Lighting - Intermediate Level 2' course in Thimphu! 🌟 Over the span of 3 intense months, they immersed themselves in a world of multimedia, projection techniques for live events, 3D stage design, advanced sound mixing, and live basking design.

Under the expert guidance of Mr. Benjamin Jonjon Villareal Jr from the Philippines, these De-suups have undergone a transformative journey, evolving from Basic to Intermediate (Level 2) proficiency over the course of a year. 🌟

Professional Cookery Course

The 2nd cohort of 12 De-suups completed the Professional Cookery Course in Culinary Arts on 25 April 2023.

The Professional Cookery course includes the highest hospitality industry competencies in international cuisine, molecular-gastronomy and training in beverage and wine service.

Under the guidance of Chef Pakpoom Jitprapai (Patrick) this course is based on ASEAN Competencies & Standards to ensure that the De-suups attain standards at par with international levels in the hospitality industry so that they can participate at a global level in the fast-moving industry.

Considering the popularity of the course and the bright prospects for employment, the DSP launched the training for the 3rd cohort of 19 De-suups at the Training Center in Pangbisa. The course is open for De-suups who have completed the Foundation and Intermediate level courses and at least three months on-the-job training and demonstrated discipline, seriousness and passion for the Culinary Arts.

Here's to the past, present, and future of culinary excellence with the De-suung Skilling Programme! Let's savor every moment and keep the culinary passion alive.


Inauguration of the DSP Cafe at the National Library and Archives of Bhutan, Kawangjangtsa, Thimphu today!

We're thrilled to announce the inauguration of the DSP Cafe at the National Library and Archives of Bhutan, Kawangjangtsa, Thimphu today! ✨

Dasho Tashi Dorji, Chairperson of the De-suung Skilling Programme (DSP) and Nagtsho Dorji, Director of Department of Culture & Dzongkha Development graced the occasion with their presence and officially inaugurated this wonderful establishment. 🎊

The event was joined by Dasho Tashi Wangyal, member of the DSP Steering Committee, heads and officials from the Department of Culture & Dzongkha Development, making this event truly special. 🌟

The DSP Cafe will be operated by 5 De-suups who have been trained in Culinary Arts and Barista and eventually will be taken over and managed by these De-suups.

Video Editing and Motion Graphics

The DSP in 'Video Editing and Motion Graphics', with a cohort of 30 De-suups commenced on 10 April 2024 at the DSP Training Centre, Gyalposhing, Mongar. This intensive program, spanning a duration of four months, will be under the expert guidance of Mr. Noor E Alam (Bangladesh) from Learnio.

Learnio is a social enterprise founded in Denmark, has been advancing digital learning and freelancing for the youth of developing countries for over eight years

The De-suung Skilling Programme (DSP) had the pleasure of welcoming His Excellency Mohammad A. Arafat, State Minister for Information & Broadcasting of Bangladesh, to the DSP Training Centre Taba, Thimphu, on March 29, 2024.

During his visit, His Excellency Arafat received a comprehensive briefing on both the Desuung program and the De-suung Skilling Programme. He had the opportunity to explore the facilities and witness the craftsmanship displayed at the Ceramics, Metal Smithing, and Sword & Blade workshops. These centers play a crucial role in equipping the De-suups with valuable skills for sustainable livelihoods.

DSP in 'Graphic Design course' successfully Completed on on 20 March 2024

22 De-suups completes the DSP in 'Graphic Design course' on 20 March 2024. The 4 months course was held at the DSP training centre, Gyalposhing, Mongar and Mr. Md. Noor E Alam from Bangladesh was the expert trainer.

Zimpon Wogma Yonten Phuntsho from the office Gyaltshab graced the closing ceremony and awarded the certificates to the De-suups.


Phase II of DSP-Solar Project Expansion!

Phase II of DSP-Solar Project Expansion!

Following the successful completion of Phase I of the 750 kW Solar Project, the DSP-Solar Initiative is moving forward with Phase II. This next phase involves ramping up our solar infrastructure with the installation of a 2.1MW ground-mounted PV system at Dechencholing, Thimphu, a 1.5MW rooftop solar PV system at The Royal Academy in Pangbisa, Paro, and an additional 250 kW rooftop solar PV system at CFM, Thimphu. We've chosen the top-of-the-line 580Wp TopCon AE Solar panels for these installations due to their superior efficiency and cutting-edge technology.

To mark this milestone, we held an inaugural ceremony on 19 March 2024 for the installation of panels at Dechencholing and CFM. Dasho Bharat Tamang, Chairperson of DSP Solar Initiatives, led the event, joined by Col. Sisir Chetteri (De-suung HQ), the Project Implementation Team, Liaison Officer, and 44 De-suups.
